Weekly Announcements – 07/01/2018

  1. Basketball Tournament– Special thanks to Youth members for organizing the event and all the parents that helped out to make the event a success.  Check out pictures for the tournament: 2018 Tournament Pics
  2. 2018 Parish Perunal– Our Parish Perunal will be held on Friday, July 6th and Saturday July 7th. Friday evening we will evening prayer followed by a devotional address. Saturday morning at 8am we will begin morning prayer followed by Holy Qurbana. All are requested to attend.
  3. 2018 Parish Picnic – This year’s picnic will be held on Saturday July 14th, 2018 at Belmont State Park. We encourage all members to participate on this day of fellowship.
  4. Half-Yearly Dues – just a friendly reminder that first six months of the year are over, please see the Treasurer to review any outstanding dues.

Weekly Announcements – 06/10/2018

  1. Passing of Mrs. Rahelamma Varghese – With great sadness we regret to inform of the passing of Mrs. Rahelamma Varghese, the mother of Mrs. Elizabeth Panicker and Mr. Solomon Varghese. She is survived by her nine children and their families. The funeral service will be conducted next Tuesday in India. Please keep the bereaving family in your prayers.
  2. FOCUS Meeting – the next FOCUS meeting will be held on the coming Friday, June 15 at 7pm at the residence of Mr. Bills & Nancy Varghese. All FOCUS members are kindly requested to attend.
  3. MGOCSM Meeting – the next MGOCSM meeting will be held on Friday, June 22nd at 5:30pm at the residence of Mr. Shibu Thomas. All MGOCSM members are kindly requested to attend.
  4. Blood Drive – We will be hosting a blood drive in association with the American Red Cross here on next Saturday, June 16th from 11 am to 4 pm. If you have not yet done so please schedule an appointment to donate today.
  5. Sunday School Announcements
    • Last day of 2017-18 SS class will be on June 17th. And SS Final exams will be on June 17th.
    • If any students are interested in attending the Area-level OVBS please speak to the Principal or Assistant Principal.

  1. MGOCSM Virtual Meeting – In order to address the questions which were not able to be answered at the Aramana visit due to limited time, we will be having a meeting via Google Hangout this Friday June 1st at 7 pm. All youth and FOCUS are encouraged to log on and join the conversation via a link that will be posted on the GroupMe.
  2. Blood Drive – We will be hosting a blood drive in association with the American Red Cross here on Saturday June 16th from 11 am to 4 pm. Please see Mr. Swagath Thomas or Ms. Ruth Abraham for more information and to schedule an appointment to donate.
  3. Monthly Committee Meeting – There will be a Committee Meeting today after service. All Committee Members are kindly requested to attend.

Weekly Announcements – 05/20/2018

  1. House Blessing – For those who have not signed up for a day for their house blessing, kindly reach out to Stanley Thomas and see which days are available within the the upcoming months.
  2. MMVS Trip – MMVS in the Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island planning to visit Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Connecticut on June 13th . The bus fare will be $40 per head. Those who are interested please contact Mrs. Mary Varghese or Mrs. Sandya Thomas.
  3. MGOCSM Meeting – There will be an MGOCSM meeting this Friday, May 25th at 5:30 pm at the residence of Mr. Vinod Abraham. All youth members are requested to attend.
  4. Lancaster Trip – There are only a few more seats remaining for this year’s Lancaster trip! We will be seeing the new show at Sight and Sound Theater titled Jesus on Tuesday August 21st. If you are interested in attending please see Ms. Emily George at your earliest to reserve your seat.

  6. PI John’s Book – if any church members did not receive a copy of Mr. P I Johns book, please give your names to Dr. Joshi John to receive a book. This is for all church families whether you came to the function or not.

  1. Feast of St. George – We will be celebrating the Feast of St. George is next Sunday, May 6th. Various members have already offered as nercha, appam & curry. If anyone else wishes to offer a donation please see the Treasurer.
  2. Feast of Ascension – we will be celebrating the Feast of Ascension on Wednesday, May 9th. Evening Prayer will start at 6:30PM, followed by Holy Qurbana.
  3. Area FOCUS Fellowship – On Friday, May 4th we will be hosting the a meeting of the areawide FOCUS at St. Gregorios Elmont. The meeting will be from 6:30pm-9:30pm.  Please see the flyer for more details.

Weekly Announcements – 03/25/2018

  1. Holy Week Schedule – We will be having evening prayer every day this week, and also Pesaha service Wednesday evening, and Good Friday service on Friday.  For exact times please see the Holy Week schedule flyer (in the back), it will also be posted on the website.  The flyer below is incorrect and we will NOT be having Evening Prayer on Thursday,  March 29th.
  2. Service of Feet Washing – this year the Diocesan Metropolitan is conducting the  Service of Feet Washing at St. Mary’s, West Sayville.  Please see their flyer below.
  3. MGOCSM Fundraiser – The MGOCSM is hosting a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen in Westbury on Friday April 6th. The restaurant will be donating 20% of the profits from that day back towards the youth fund to be donated to charity. The youth will also be meeting up for lunch at the restaurant at 1pm that day to support the cause and engage in fellowship. All youth are encouraged to attend!
  4. MGOCSM Lancaster Trip – We are planning a church trip to see the new Sight & Sound production “Jesus” in Lancaster on Tuesday August 21st. The cost for adults is $94 and for children, $64. About half of the tickets are already taken so please see Emily George downstairs in the auditorium to reserve your seat!
  5. GROW Conference– The annual GROW One Day conference will be hosted at our church this year on April 14th from 8:30 to 4:30. Registration is $15 online and $20 at the door so please register online at your earliest.
