Diocesan Reception of His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews III – There will be a diocesan reception on Sunday, September 25th, held at our parish for Bava Thirumeni’s arrival. Lining up for the procession will begin at 3:30pm. If you plan to attend the public meeting and dinner or public meeting only, please sign-up using the following form: https://forms.gle/9N76ZjTwcggeopVa9. Each family should sign up only once and under one form. Be sure to submit as soon as possible, so that we and the diocese can have an accurate headcount.
Mid Week Service – The Feast of Nativity of St. Mary. There will be Holy Qurbana on Wednesday, Sep 7th, starting at 6:30pm. All are requested to attend.

2022 Annual Convention – The Council of Indian Orthodox Churches of Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island is conducting its Annual Convention on Friday, Sat and Sun, Sep 2,3 &4 2022 at 6.30pm.

Harvest festival – Our church MMVS members are planning to host a harvest festival, which includes sale of home grown garden vegetables along with delicious bake and cook sake as well as BBQsale on Sep 4th.The money raised will go to our church fund. Men’s forum and the youth are with the MMVS in this event.

Parish Picnic – Reminder, this year’s picnic will be held on Saturday, August 20th at Belmont State Park. The rain date will be Saturday, August 27th. All members are encouraged to participate on this day of fellowship.
MMVS 40th Anniversary – MMVS will be celebrating the 40th year anniversary of the formation of MMVS in our diocese. On Sunday, August 21st, there will be a ceremony after Holy Qurbana, to honor the MMVS members who have been here since 1982.

The Fast of the Dormition of St. Mary (15-day Lent) – Just a reminder to everyone that the Dormition Lent begins Monday, August 1st. All members are kindly requested to observe the 15 day lent.

Basketball tournament – The Anil John Memorial Basketball Tournament will be held on this Saturday July 16th at Island Garden Gym in West Hempstead. The tournament will begin with inauguration at 8.30 am. The committee ask for your prayers, support and presence at the tournament.
Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul – Holy Qurbana for the end of the fast and to celebrate the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul will be held on Tuesday, June 28th at 6:30pm.
Parish Perunal – Our Parish Perunal will be held on Friday, July 1st and Saturday, July 2nd. On Friday, there will be evening prayer followed by a devotional address by Rev. Fr. Geevarghese Samuel (Sunil). On Saturday, beginning at 8am, there will be morning prayer followed by Holy Qurbana. All members are requested to give their contributions of $100 to the Treasurer for the Perunal and all are requested to attend.
Martura – The MGOCSM of Brooklyn/Queens/LI will be hosting the Annual Martura Camp at our Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center in Dalton, Pennsylvania, from July 27th Wednesday to Saturday July 30th 2022. The theme for this year’s camp is “Reigniting your faith” and the main speakers for this year’s camp is Very Rev. Fr. Timothy Hojniki and Seminarian Basili Mathew. Holy Apostles Lent (13-days Lent) – We are in the season of Lent of the Holy Apostles. All members are kindly requested to observe. Let us spend time in the reading of the scriptures, as well as in fasting and prayer. Holy Qurbana, for the end of the fast and to celebrate the feast of Sts. The MMVS Education Grant Drive – of our Diocese has entered into its 40th year since its inception. There are a few activities planned to mark this occasion, such as the sale of raffle tickets, with each ticket costing $40. The funds will provide educational aid to 40 students (at various levels) pursuing higher education in Kerala. Each student will be given 1 lakh rupees or $1500.
The Anil John Memorial Basketball Tournament – will be held on Saturday, July 16th starting at 8am at Island Garden Gym in West Hempstead. As in years past, the youth will be selling fan t-shirts to our parishioners. The committee is collecting orders until Sunday, June 19th.
