- STYL Basketball Tournament – There will be a STYL Basketball tournament meeting today after Sunday School. The tickets for the tournament were inaugurated on Sunday.
- Education Day – Special thanks to Sunday School and MGCOCSM for hosting our 2nd annual Education Day. The theme for the day was “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it’s own things” Mathew 6:34.

- FOCUS Meeting — There will be a FOCUS Meeting this Friday, February 23rd at 7 pm at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. George Palakkadan. A friendly reminder to bring your Shehimo prayer book and Beginning to Pray book.
- MMVS Attendance Award — The MMVS of our parish would like to award Mrs. Elizabeth Sunny the MMVS Attendance Award, for attending and participating in every MMVS meeting for the past year.
- MGOCSM Meeting — There will be an MGOCSM meeting held at the church on Friday, March 2nd at 6:30 pm. All MGOCSM members are requested to attend especially since this will be the MGOCSM’s first meeting of the year.
- GROW One Day Conference — The 7th annual One-Day GROW Conference will be held on April 14th from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at our church. It will be open to all women ages 13 and up. Registration is $15 online and $20 at the door so please try to register online at your earliest.
- Education Day — This coming Saturday, February 24th there will be an Education Day for all the Sunday School students. This event is FREE of cost and is a great opportunity for the Sunday School children to enjoy fellowship with one another and also learn from this year’s theme which is taken from Matthew 6:34. All are asked to arrive by 1:30 pm so that we can start the day promptly and finish the activities in time for evening prayer.
- STYL Basketball Tournament — This year’s STYL Basketball tournament will be held on Saturday, June 30th. There will be a STYL Basketball tournament meeting next Sunday after Sunday School. The tickets for the tournament will be inaugurated next week.
STLI Education Day
- CROP Hunger Walk – As a parish we participated in the CROP Walk at Eisenhower Park on Saturday. Thank you for all those who donated to the cause and also who walked as well. We raised approximately $1500 through private donations and also through the bake sale. Thanks to all the youth and the parents who participated in the event.
- MGOCSM Winter Summit – The MGOCSM Winter Summit will be taking place from Dec 27th-30th, 2017 at Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center. Click the following link (http://goo.gl/5nZd1k) for registration. Please see the flyer below for more details.
- Parish Committee Meeting – There will be a parish committee meeting next Sunday, October 15th after refreshments.
- Parish Softball Team – Congratulations to our softball team for participating in the annual BKV Memorial Softball Tournament and getting the 2nd place prize.
- Weekly Fasting Prayer – Our weekly fasting prayer will be held this Friday from 10am- 12pm at the parish. Rides can be arranged for those who need them.
- FOCUS Meeting – Our next FOCUS Meeting will be held this Friday, August 25th, at 7pm at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Sinu and Giby Jacob. All FOCUS members are kindly requested to attend.
- Parish OVBS – Our Parish OVBS will be held this Saturday at the Parish. Those who have registered kindly make sure that you come on time since we have a full day schedule planned.
- BQLI Area Convention – The annual B/Q/LI area convention. The main speaker for all three days will be Rev. Dr. Ninan. K. George, professor of Orthodox Theological Seminary in Kottayam. August 25, 26, 27 Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 6:30pm at Our Lady of Snow Roman Catholic Church.
- Parish Sunday School Trip – The Sunday school children, parents, teachers took a trip to a Minor League baseball game of the Long Island Ducks. We wanted to thank everyone who took the time to attend. Please see some pics below.
1. Anil John Memorial Basketball Tournament– We had our basketball tournament yesterday. We are pleased to announce that our Basketball team won 2nd place in the Tournament. On the 3 on 3 competitions, our team won 1st Place. Congratulations and thank you for your hard work and dedication you put into this. I especially want to thank this year’s organizers and volunteers. Also, special thanks to all the parents who showed up to the tournament to show their support and love.
2. Weekly Fasting Prayer – Our weekly fasting prayer will be held at the Church this Friday from 10am-Noon. All are requested to attend.
3. Parish Perunal – A reminder that our Parish Perunal will be held this Friday and Saturday July 7th and 8th. Friday evening we will be having Rev. Fr. Paulose Peter, the Vicar of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, White Plains, NY as our guest speaker. All are to attend on a timely manner. Friday evening at 6:30pm and Saturday morning at 8am.
4. FOCUS Meeting – Our next FOCUS Meeting will be held next Sunday at 5pm at the Residence of Mr. and Mrs. Arun and Sheba Joseph. All FOCUS members are requested to attend

- Sunday School Family Outing – The Sunday School is arranging a family outing to go and see the Long Island Ducks Baseball game. It will be held on Friday, August 18th at 6:30pm. We have reserved tickets and if you are interested in attending kindly let Mr. Ajit Thomas know as soon as possible. Just a friendly reminder that parents are responsible for arranging rides and supervising their children.

- Annual GROW Conference – This year’s annual GROW (God Renewing Orthodox Women) conference was held at the newly purchased Holy Transfiguration Retreat Center. Special thanks to all our members who participated and attended the conference.
- FOCUS Trip – to St. Tikhon’s and HTRC was a great success. Special thanks to all those who attended. We had about 16 people including children who attend the trip. You can view the pictures of the trip on the Photos Page.
- MMVS Fasting Prayer Meeting – this Friday, June 9th from 10am- Noon at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham K Yohannan and Rosemary Yohannan. These prayer meetings will be held every Friday. Those who are available that day are requested to attend.

- 2016 Sunday School Newsletter – please find the Sunday School Newsletter for 2016. It shows the various service events and activities that our Sunday School did over the 2016 school year.
- MGOCSM Faith Study Series – will be held this Friday, January 27 at 6pm at church. For this month we will be discussing on the topic of how to discern the will of God in our journey in life. All MGOCSM members are requested to attend.
- Basketball Tournament Meeting – The next Sunday, January 29th after Sunday school there will be a STYL basketball tournament meeting. All youth are requested to attend this meeting.
- Visiting St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church – We will be visiting St. Bernard’s RC church next Sunday the 29th at 3pm. We will gather at the Church first by 2:30pm and go together as a group.
- Newborn Baby Boy – Kindly join us in congratulating Mr. Bills and Nancy Varghese on their newborn baby boy David Varghese. Let us keep the newborn and his family in our prayers.
- Back to college – Many of you are heading back to college this week and next week. Make sure you are on top of your work right from the beginning so it won’t pile up.
