Harvest Festival – will be held on next Sunday, August 25th. Please bring all your harvest and plus enjoy all different kinds of authentic food. There will be 5 different booths and make sure you visit all the booths. Everyone is encouraged to come and support the MMVS.
2024 Graduates – All graduates are requested to provide your names, institution and degree attained, to the secretary at your earliest. It includes High School, Undergraduate, Graduate, Post- graduate programs.
MMVS Annual Conference – will take place at HTRC from June 13-15, 2024. All MMVS members are requested to participate. Please see the flyer below for more details.
Summer Summit 2024 – will take place at HTRC from June 27th-29th. This camp is for all college aged and post-graduates. Please see details below on how to register.
St. Johns Orthodox Church Musical Concert – St. John’s Orthodox Church, Bellerose is also conducting a Musical Concert to mark the 10th anniversary of the inception of their church on May 26th at Queensborough Community College. This is a fund raising event for (Education Aid charity) in India and for the future of their parish. Your prayers and presence is requested.
St. Andrews Conference – St. Andrew’s Orthodox Church will be hosting a Life After Loss conference on Saturday, June 15th at the Seminary of Immaculate Conception in Huntington, New York. This conference is designed to help faithful navigate grief over the death of a loved one/parent, anticipatory grief, and how to talk to children about death. Parish Family Night – Our Parish family night will be held on Sunday, October 8th. It will be held at the Cotillion Restaurant from 4:00pm- 8:30pm. Please sign up as soon as possible. $50 per head. Children 5 to 10 years of age are half price and below 5 years free. Registration will be done online and the link is found in the St Thomas parish Family ‘whatsapp’ group. Everyone please register at the earliest. Hope to see everyone there.
Community Service – The Mcvey food pantry is accepting donations of staple food and household items. Please consider donating to help out the local East meadow and Levittown community. There will be a donation box set up in the parish hall.
MMVS of BQLI – will have a half day retreat from 9 AM to 12 PM on September 2nd at St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, Elmont. The speaker will be Fr. Jerry Varghese and the theme for the retreat will be Nicene Creed.

The Feast of the Dormition of St. Mary –There will be Holy Qurbana for the Feast of the Dormition of St. Mary on Monday, August 15that 8am. All are requested to make arrangements to attend.
General Body Meeting –We will have our half yearly General Body meeting Sunday, August 14th, after Holy Qurbana. Members are kindly requested to attend this meeting.
Parish Picnic – Reminder, this year’s picnic will be held on Saturday, August 20th at Belmont State Park. The rain date will be Saturday, August 27th. All members are encouraged to participate on this day of fellowship.
Sunday School Library – Reminder that the Sunday School library with Orthodox themed books will be open all summer and set up on the Parish Hall stage. Parents please encourage the kids to include these books in their summer reading. For more information, please contact Rebu Thomas or Tigi Abraham.

Zachariah Nickolovas will be conducting Holy Qurbana at the parish for his annual visit. The form to sign up for Sunday’s service was sent out as a link via text message on Monday.

Breaking the Silence– The MGOCSM, MMVS and GROW ministries of the Brooklyn Queens Long Island Area present Breaking the Silence, a mental health awareness workshop addressing stress and anxiety. It will be held Saturday, October 19th from 9 am to 3 pm at St. Gregorios Elmont church. Registration is $10 and can be completed online. Passing of Mr. Varghese Pothachen – the father-in-law of Mr. Cheriyan Abraham and father of Mrs. Susan Cheriyan passed earlier this week. Please keep the bereaving family in your prayers.
