- Metropolitan Episcopal Consecration Jubilee Banquet — The Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church will be hosting a banquet for the Episcopal Silver Jubilee of our beloved Metropolitan, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos. The formal banquet will be held on the evening of Sunday, August 26, 2018, at The Green Tree Country Club, located at 538 Davenport Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10805. His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East & Malankara Metropolitan, will preside over the celebrations. Esteemed leaders from the ecumenical community will also be present on this joyous occasion.

- N.E. American Diocese Summer Camp for Middle School Children — The Northeast American Diocese is hosting its first ever Summer Camp for Middle School Children (ages 10-14). The theme of the camp will be “Agni: Ablaze for the Lord” and the Verse: taken from St. Luke 12:49 – “I have come to set the world on fire”.
- The camp will be held at HTRC from Thursday, August 9th – Saturday, August 11th. The registration fee will be $100 per child. Please see the Sunday School Principal or Assistant Principal for details.
- GROW Conference – The annual GROW One Day conference will be hosted at our church this year on Saturday, April 14th, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. - MGOCSM Fundraiser – The MGOCSM is hosting a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen in Westbury on this Friday, April 6th. The restaurant will be donating 20% of the profits from that day back towards the youth fund to be donated to charity. The youth will also be meeting up for lunch at the restaurant at 4 pm that day to support the cause and engage in fellowship. All MGOCSM members are encouraged to attend! OVBS will be using a centralized curriculum with lessons based on the theme. The registration fee will be $35 per child (This includes a T-Shirt, Songbook, 3 days Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks and Drinks). Pre-registration is required, $35/child until April 8th. The fee will increase after April 8th. Please see Principal /Asst. Principal for details.
- Sunday School Teacher Conference/Training – Our church will be hosting a combined Teachers Conference/OVBS Teachers/Volunteers training. It will be held on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 conducted by Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas George.
- House Visits – As there is a tradition to visit and bless houses of parishioners the days after Easter, the Achens will scheduling visits to houses from the week of April 22nd and continue until all houses are covered. Both Achens and a lay person will visit the house. Visits will mostly take place on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Kindly schedule a visit by contacting Mr. Stanley Thomas at your earliest convenience.

- Holy Week Schedule – We will be having evening prayer every day this week, and also Pesaha service Wednesday evening, and Good Friday service on Friday. For exact times please see the Holy Week schedule flyer (in the back), it will also be posted on the website. The flyer below is incorrect and we will NOT be having Evening Prayer on Thursday, March 29th.
- Service of Feet Washing – this year the Diocesan Metropolitan is conducting the Service of Feet Washing at St. Mary’s, West Sayville. Please see their flyer below.
- MGOCSM Fundraiser – The MGOCSM is hosting a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen in Westbury on Friday April 6th. The restaurant will be donating 20% of the profits from that day back towards the youth fund to be donated to charity. The youth will also be meeting up for lunch at the restaurant at 1pm that day to support the cause and engage in fellowship. All youth are encouraged to attend!

- Parish Lenten Retreat: This year’s parish Lenten Retreat will be held on Saturday, March 24th. Confession will begin at 10am. The retreat message will be given at 3:00pm by Rev. Fr. Sujit Thomas. All are kindly requested to attend.
- Holy Week Donation – All members are kindly requested to make a donation of $100 to help meet the expenses for Holy Week. Kindly give your donation to the Treasurer as soon as possible.
- Good Friday Refreshments – Our parish has a tradition of members providing refreshments on Holy Friday as nercha. We will be continuing that this year as well. Those who are interested in giving refreshments for Holy Friday, kindly see the Secretary or Treasurer after service.
- Parish Committee Meeting – We will be having our monthly parish committee meeting next Saturday, March 17th, at 4pm at the Church. All committee members are requested to make arrangements to attend.

- 2018 OVBS – combined OVBS for the ten Indian Orthodox Parishes of the Queens-Long Island-Brooklyn Area will be held this year at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church School on July 11, 12 & 13 (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. All children between the ages of 4 and 16 are invited to attend.
- Evening Prayer – A friendly reminder that we will be having special lenten Evening Prayers at the church every Wednesday during Great Lent 6:30PM. All are kindly requested to attend.
- Confession – As it is the lenten season, whoever wishes to do Holy Confession, kindly reach out to Achens as soon as possible. We request that you do not wait till the retreat day to do confession.
- Mid-Lent Service: The Mid-lent service will be held this Tuesday, March 6th at 6:30pm. All are kindly requested to attend. A friendly reminder to those who are planning to take Holy Qurbana to fast at least 6 hours prior to receiving Holy Qurbana.
- Holy Week Song Practice: There will be Holy Week song practice held Sunday and Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm at the Church. Whoever is interested to learn the hymns of Holy Week are requested to attend.
