- Passing of Mr. P.I. John – Mr. P.I John passed away last Tuesday, June 19th, and funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 23rd. Please keep the bereaving family in your prayers.
- Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul – Holy Qurbana for the end of the fast and to celebrate the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul will be held on Thursday, June 28th at 6:30 pm.
- Basketball Tournament – The STYL Presents: Anil John Memorial Basketball Tournament is coming up next Saturday at Island Garden Gym. As every year, the success of this tournament is due to the combined efforts of not only the youth and FOCUS, but also the parents, so the presence and support of all church members are kindly requested.
- Tournament Meeting – The day before the tournament, Friday, June 29th, there will be a meeting at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Cherian Abraham at 7 pm. This will be our last meeting before the actual tournament so it is especially important that all youth members make an effort to attend.
- STYL BBQ – As every year, we will be having a youth barbecue the day after the tournament. This year it will be at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Juby Thomas on Sunday, July 1st at 2 pm.
- Parish Perunal – Our Parish Perunal will be held on Friday, July 6th and Saturday, July 7th. Friday evening we will be having evening prayer followed by a devotional address. Saturday morning at 8 am we will begin morning prayer followed by Holy Qurbana. All are requested to attend.
- 2018 Parish Picnic – This year’s picnic will be held on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at Belmont State Park. We encourage all members to participate on this day of fellowship.

- Passing of Mrs. Rahelamma Varghese – With great sadness we regret to inform of the passing of Mrs. Rahelamma Varghese, the mother of Mrs. Elizabeth Panicker and Mr. Solomon Varghese. She is survived by her nine children and their families. The funeral service will be conducted next Tuesday in India. Please keep the bereaving family in your prayers.

- MGOCSM Virtual Meeting – In order to address the questions which were not able to be answered at the Aramana visit due to limited time, we will be having a meeting via Google Hangout this Friday June 1st at 7 pm. All youth and FOCUS are encouraged to log on and join the conversation via a link that will be posted on the GroupMe.

- Lancaster Trip – There are only about ten seats remaining for this year’s Lancaster trip! We will be seeing the new show at Sight and Sound Theater titled Jesus on Tuesday August 21st. The cost for bus and ticket fare is $94 for adults and $64 for children and money is requested by June 24th the latest.
- Next Sunday Change in Schedule – May 20th: Since next Sunday we will be celebrating the Feast of Pentecost, morning prayer will begin at 7:30am. All are requested to attend service on a timely manner.
- PI John’s Book – if any church members did not receive a copy of Mr. P I Johns book, please give your names to Dr. Joshi John to receive a book. This is for all church families whether you came to the function or not.

- Metropolitan Episcopal Consecration Jubilee Banquet — The Northeast American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church will be hosting a banquet for the Episcopal Silver Jubilee of our beloved Metropolitan, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos. The formal banquet will be held on the evening of Sunday, August 26, 2018, at The Green Tree Country Club, located at 538 Davenport Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10805. His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East & Malankara Metropolitan, will preside over the celebrations. Esteemed leaders from the ecumenical community will also be present on this joyous occasion.

- N.E. American Diocese Summer Camp for Middle School Children — The Northeast American Diocese is hosting its first ever Summer Camp for Middle School Children (ages 10-14). The theme of the camp will be “Agni: Ablaze for the Lord” and the Verse: taken from St. Luke 12:49 – “I have come to set the world on fire”.
- The camp will be held at HTRC from Thursday, August 9th – Saturday, August 11th. The registration fee will be $100 per child. Please see the Sunday School Principal or Assistant Principal for details.
- GROW Conference – The annual GROW One Day conference will be hosted at our church this year on Saturday, April 14th, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. - MGOCSM Fundraiser – The MGOCSM is hosting a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen in Westbury on this Friday, April 6th. The restaurant will be donating 20% of the profits from that day back towards the youth fund to be donated to charity. The youth will also be meeting up for lunch at the restaurant at 4 pm that day to support the cause and engage in fellowship. All MGOCSM members are encouraged to attend! - Area Wide OVBS – A combined OVBS for all parishes of the Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island area will be held this year on July 11th-13th. OVBS will be using a centralized curriculum with lessons based on the theme. The registration fee will be $35 per child (This includes a T-Shirt, Songbook, 3 days Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks and Drinks). Pre-registration is required, $35/child until April 8th. The fee will increase after April 8th. Please see Principal /Asst. Principal for details.
- Sunday School Teacher Conference/Training – Our church will be hosting a combined Teachers Conference/OVBS Teachers/Volunteers training. It will be held on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 conducted by Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas George.
- House Visits – As there is a tradition to visit and bless houses of parishioners the days after Easter, the Achens will scheduling visits to houses from the week of April 22nd and continue until all houses are covered. Both Achens and a lay person will visit the house. Visits will mostly take place on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Kindly schedule a visit by contacting Mr. Stanley Thomas at your earliest convenience.
