Weekly Announcements – 03/11/2018

  1. FOCUS Meeting – the next FOCUS meeting will be held on Friday, March 23rd at 7pm at the residence of Sinu and Giby Jacob. All FOCUS members are kindly requested to attend.
  2. Youth Meeting– There will be an MGOCSM meeting this Friday March 16th at 6:30 pm at the residence of Dr. Thomas Mathew and family: 3 Parkview Drive, Jericho NY. All youth members are encouraged to attend.
  3. Parish Lenten Retreat: This year’s parish Lenten Retreat will be held on Saturday, March 24th. Confession will begin at 10am. The retreat message will be given at 3:00pm by Rev. Fr. Sujit Thomas. All are kindly requested to attend.
  4. Holy Week Donation – All members are kindly requested to make a donation of $100 to help meet the expenses for Holy Week. Kindly give your donation to the Treasurer as soon as possible.
  5. Good Friday Refreshments – Our parish has a tradition of members providing refreshments on Holy Friday as nercha. We will be continuing that this year as well.  Those who are interested in giving refreshments for Holy Friday, kindly see the Secretary or Treasurer after service.
  6. Parish Committee Meeting – We will be having our monthly parish committee meeting next Saturday, March 17th, at 4pm at the Church. All committee members are requested to make arrangements to attend.
  7. Lancaster Trip– This year we will be arranging a church trip to the Sight & Sound theater in Lancaster on Tuesday August 21st. We will be traveling together from the church to see their new production, titled Jesus. The cost, including bus fee and show ticket, is $94 for adults and $64 for children. Please see Emily George for more information and to reserve your seat.
  8. Bench – Special thanks to Mr. T.V Varghese for donating the bench in the lobby.
  9. 2018 OVBS – combined OVBS for the ten Indian Orthodox Parishes of the Queens-Long Island-Brooklyn Area will be held this year at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church School on July 11, 12 & 13 (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. All children between the ages of 4 and 16 are invited to attend.
